Nothing Feels More Lonely

Nothing feels more lonely than being a mother in the maternity ward alone while your baby is in the NICU.

  1. I truly understand, loneliness, it happened to me 27 yrs ago and to this day I remember also being scared and stressed by the uncertainty of not knowing if my daughter was OK. Not being able to hold her and nurse for 12 hours after giving birth was unbearable. I wish one of the nursing staff could have provided me with an update, offered to bring me to visit her. It was a long and lonely night. Today my daughter is a nurse practitioner, a compassionate and caring human being, so she is more than OK, she is thriving in life what a fighter she was then and continues to be a fighter for others in need of care and support. She is my hero,
